Job Description
The Opportunity The Department of Security Studies and International Affairs (SSIA) at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, FL., invites candidates to apply for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Cyber Strategy. The successful candidate should have experience in one or more of the following cyber disciplines: strategy, policy, information operations, irregular warfare, and/or strategic competition below the threshold of armed conflict. The successful candidate will contribute to SSIA's interdisciplinary Homeland Security & Intelligence program, which encompasses areas such as critical infrastructure protection, intelligence analysis, and strategic competition short of war. Primary tasks include undergraduate teaching and research, student advising, and relationship building with external organizations and agencies. The position requires teaching flexibility to cover a variety of courses in cyberspace strategy, cyberspace law, cyber-enabled influence operations, cyber resilience and resistance, introduction to cyberspace operations and terminology, and cyber tools and tradecraft. Other essential duties include scholarship, professional development, committee participation, and other activities designed to support the SSIA Department. This is a nine-month position with the possibility of summer teaching assignments. About the Department of Security Studies and International Affairs (SSIA) The SSIA Department is one of five departments in the College of Arts & Sciences. In addition to the HSI degree, the department offers a B.S. in Global Conflict Studies. One of several minors offered by the department is Cybersecurity Application & Management. The department supports a Homeland Security track in the Math department's Master's in Data Science as well as offers courses to graduate students in the department of Human Factors.
