Job Description
Koinonia Community Solutions - 610 Old Tar Village Rd. Suite B Winterville, NC 28590 - is currently seeking several Nonprofit Operations Assistants.

The Administrative Assistant (Student Intern) supports the daily operations of a mission-driven nonprofit organization. This role offers students an opportunity to gain valuable experience in office administration, intake coordination, and nonprofit systems such as Microsoft 365 Suite, Asana, and CRM platforms. Ideal for a student interested in nonprofit management, social impact, or administrative careers, this position builds transferable professional skills while supporting real-time staff and program needs.

Key Responsibilities:
Front Desk Support

  • Greet visitors and answer phone calls in a professional and welcoming manner
  • Monitor general inboxes and route messages or inquiries to appropriate team members


Intake & Scheduling Assistance

  • Enter data from client interest forms, referrals, or event sign-ups into databases or spreadsheets
  • Help schedule appointments, follow-ups, or interviews for staff or clients
  • Track intake status and flag incomplete or pending items for follow-up

Administrative Operations

  • Maintain organized digital filing systems (Google Drive) and physical records
  • Create or update spreadsheets, forms, and tracking tools
  • Assist with preparing materials for meetings, events, and outreach efforts
  • Run on-site errands or assist with office inventory and supplies

Systems Support

  • Use tools like Asana, Trello, or Google Workspace to update tasks and internal projects
  • Take and distribute meeting notes, and update task assignments based on discussion
  • Support routine reporting, document formatting, or internal checklists

Other Duties:

  • Participate in occasional staff meetings or training sessions
  • Assist with light communications, printing, and organizing outreach materials
  • Perform additional duties as assigned that support the nonprofit's mission and internal capacity

Learning Opportunities:

  • Gain practical experience in nonprofit administration, operations, and client systems
  • Learn to use professional tools like Asana, Google Workspace, and CRM databases
  • Exposure to real-world team collaboration and workflow management

Preferred (Majors, Experience, GPA, etc.)
Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled as a high school senior, college, or graduate student (or eligible for work-study, if applicable)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 Suite, Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive) required; experience with project management tools (Asana, Trello) a plus
  • Ability to follow directions, manage time, and work both independently and collaboratively
  • Interest in nonprofit work, community service, education, or operations is a plus
  • Professionalism, punctuality, and attention to detail
