Overview:
- Experienced staff member of the organization with demonstrated ability in providing portfolio, program, and project management support.
- Must understand project management principles and techniques and have project management work experience in a biomedical, pharmaceutical, biotech, academic medical center, or health-related organization.
- Must exhibit the organization and management skills required to lead a team of project managers and project coordinators involved in many diverse programs and projects of varying size and complexity.
- Must possess the communication skills and attention to detail required to effectively coordinate projects across a wide range of stakeholders.
- Must also have experience developing project management processes, tools, and templates to strengthen an organization's project management approach.
Qualifications:
- This role must have a bachelor's degree in an applicable field (e.g., science, public health, business or project management), a master's degree is preferred.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of demonstrable experience in portfolio, program, and project management support. If degree is not in a science-related field, at least 5 years of that experience must be in a biomedical, pharmaceutical, biotech, academic medical center, or health-related organization.
- Minimum of 5 years of demonstrable experience in serving as a team lead / project lead position.
- Operational program/project management experience for a federal agency strongly preferred.
- Experience with OTA preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, direction, and guidance to Contractor staff. Mentor and support the professional development of team members.
- Act as the Contractor's primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including senior management and other departments.
- Ensure that project deliverables meet quality standards and expectations.
- Track and report on contract financials, including expenses and resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and standards.
- Maintain comprehensive contract documentation, including project plans, status reports, and meeting minutes.
- Serves as Deputy Operations Director providing leadership and strategic direction for the program.
- Also includes project coordinator and project manager responsibilities.
