Acara Solutions seeks highly qualified candidates to work onsite for our client in Plattsburgh, NY. Interested?

Here's what you'd do:

• You'll report to the Painting Team Leader and work alongside passionate, motivated, and dedicated teammates.
• You'll shape the foundation of painting for rail by influencing the quality and aesthetics of trains and digital mobility systems.
• Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business, taking care of paint preparation, application, and repair on rail vehicles.
• You'll specifically perform acceptable repairs on applied coatings, maintain paint process records, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

• Keep paint process records, including coating batch numbers and expiration dates and spraying conditions, such as temperature and humidity.

Pay: $23.00/ hr

Hours: 40 hrs / Week (1^st shift)

Required Skills:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 2 years of experience working at an Auto Body Shop or Industrial Paint Shop.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in performing all proper paint preparation on the different substrates of a rail vehicle.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in applying coatings to all areas of a rail vehicle to meet company and customer requirements.
• Minimum 2 years of experience performing acceptable repairs on applied coatings (paint, fiberglass gel coat).

Preferred Skills:

• Expertise in painting issues/incident resolution
• Completion of a Vocational course in Auto Body Repair
• Proposed technical solutions
• Quality, on-time deliverables
• Ability to pass needed respiratory testing and wear personal protective equipment
• Ability to read blueprints and operate required tools and machinery equipment, and machinery with nominal training and instruction for the application of decals and stencilling.
• Willingness to learn the painting methods.
• Ability to paint test plate and pass the orange peel criteria, MIL thickness criteria, with no runs allowed.
• Must meet gloss level requirements.
• Adhesion test.

Additional Information:

• Upon offer of employment, the individual will be subject to a background check and a drug screen.
• In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be needed to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the necessary employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
• Physical ability to maneuver/push/pull/lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to pass required respiratory testing to be able to wear the necessary respiratory personal protective equipment
• Able to work from heights and operate a scissor lift.
