Sr Regulatory and Filings Analyst
This is a multi-function position that focuses on incorporating state and federal insurance regulations into HSB's direct and reinsured products throughout the product and filings life cycles. This role is responsible for the development and maintenance of highly customized product specific rate and rule manuals that are used across direct and reinsured products and enable achieving the intended business outcome for those filing materials. In addition, this role is assigned to our top tier, most sophisticated partner insurance companies for our reinsured products. This position, as a valued member of our Client Integration Teams (CIT), plays a key role in collaborating with partner carrier counterparts to integrate HSB's products in a way that ensures regulatory compliance and operational efficiency, focusing on the nuances of rates and rules to drive successful implementation. For HSB's direct distribution products, this position provides regulatory consultation, filing strategy and expertise to ensure seamless deployment of HSB's direct products into the market to support business initiatives. This role develops and provides required comprehensive and state and federal compliant rate/rule filings to be filed with the respective state Departments of Insurance. For direct and reinsured products, they are responsible for responding to state Department of Insurance rate and rule objections, and if necessary, consults with product management, pricing and actuarial, underwriting and/or legal to ensure ultimate Dept of Insurance approval. In addition, this role is responsible for providing direct and reinsured product expertise, implementing regulatory requirements into underwriting rate development standards and creating surveillance of state regional regulatory bulletins and trends with an overall focus on state and federal compliance with insurance regulations.
