THE POSITION The Lead Performance Monitoring Engineer will serve on the Joint Staff Support Center (JSSC) Information Technology Support Services (JSSC-ITSS) contract at the Pentagon, Arlington, VA. Your primary responsibility will be providing expert technical support for the JSSC's Global Management Center (GMC) IT infrastructure. This includes overseeing production, continuity, and testing environments crucial for delivering essential Command and Control (C2) tools to the JSSC and its customers. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring smooth operations and optimizing system performance. - Network Performance Monitoring Expertise: Demonstrate technical expertise in network performance monitoring tools, traffic analyzers, monitoring the status of VMware network virtualizationservices, and Linux-based monitoring platforms. Manage and monitor network software, bandwidth management systems, and optimization solutions to perform complex network performance assignments.
- Network Infrastructure Requirements Analysis: Establish network information requirements by analyzing and collaborating with Network Engineers in the development of enterprise-wide networking infrastructure (CAN, MAN, WAN). Ensure data availability and survivability of networks through comprehensive planning and analysis.
- Comprehensive Architecture Design: Design architecture encompassing software, hardware, and communications systems to support total requirements and provide for present and future cross-functional requirements. Develop network protocols, routing and switching technologies, and capacity planning methodologies.
- Incident Management and Performance Troubleshooting: Actively troubleshoot and manage incident responses related to network performance degradation, connectivity issues, and bandwidth constraints. Document network incidents, performance metrics, and develop strategies and procedures for network performance optimization.
- Network Analysis and Optimization: Evaluate analytically and systematically problems of network traffic flows, bandwidth utilization, latency issues, and network capacity planning. Develop appropriate corrective actions to optimize network performance and ensure service level agreement compliance.
- Performance Monitoring and Cybersecurity Support: Conduct performance monitoring of JSSC supported systems and assets at critical sites in accordance with SOPs. Support cybersecurity and IA policy efforts to maintain the cybersecurity posture of supported systems, hardware, and support tools.
- System Availability and Maintenance Operations: Monitor network, server, and application availability while documenting and tracking all scheduled and unscheduled outages. Run batch jobs and scripts to ensure system uptime is maintained according to SOPs, customer requirements, and government guidance.
- Technical Solutions and Site Coordination: Analyze performance data to identify potential problems and coordinate with designated sites to enable performance monitoring. Support sites with router network configuration, firewall troubleshooting, and network software installation and configuration.
- Customer Collaboration and Standards Development: Collaborate with end-users, government customers, and team members to communicate key performance indicators and complex technical solutions. Develop, document, and enforce policies for standardizing systems and monitoring software while ensuring compliance with safety and security requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum Active Top-Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility, AND;
- High School Diploma or equivalent, AND;
- DoD 8140/ 8570 Information Assurance Technical Level II (IAT-II) Certification CompTIA Security+CE, AND;
- 10 years of experience in networking infrastructure or and IT technical discipline such as providing system support in network environments ensure mission success in support of DoD unclassified/classified networking environments
