This position is with Material Control supporting the Rhoads Focus Factory at our Quonset Point Location. Material Control maintains warehouse and buffer storage for all Submarine Programs. The Logistics Analyst is responsible to support these programs by providing oversight of the strategic planning function. The successful candidate must be a decision maker, able to be a self-starter, able to work with minimal direction and make timely and accurate decisions. The Logistics Analyst is expected to support our Philadelphia location based on the department's strategic vision, management of priorities and resolve customer questions and problems. This position will require weekend duty standing and/or may require off shift duty work as needed. The Logistics Analyst will aid in evaluating current processes and take action to support process improvement initiatives to reduce handling and warehouse cost while improving customer service.This position will require interaction with all levels of supplier and EB management. Candidates must be highly motivated; self-starters who are task oriented and able to prioritize multiple tasks. Logistics Analysts must be well versed in Material Control and Management. The successful candidate will be expected to have knowledge of and maintain full compliance with the attributes of Safety, Quality, Cost, Schedule and Continuous Improvements. The Logistics Analyst must be well versed in inventory policies, warehousing, material packaging and handling and materials management. This position is not an entry level position, this position is an extension of management with the expectation to document and report on performance based goals. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Supports Material Control; specifically the business and process of management and movement of material needed to support construction of all classes of submarines built at Rhoads Focus Factory
- The position requires a strategic thinking individual who can interpret technical requirements and has acumen to draft and/or modify policies and procedures as needed to adapt to current practices
- Able to receive raw Materials and Products. Responsible for validation of material types, markings, segregation and quantities utilizing receiving reports, material move tags, packing slips, packing lists and shipping documents
- Keen understanding of logistics management, data management, project reporting, material availability analysis, review of schedules, support up and downstream customers, and metrics reporting
- Proficient Pitch/Catch and Virtual Warehousing Systems
- Track material transfers and in transit within EB/RH departments, expediting as necessary to support the required need date
- The position will entail significant interaction with various customers, EB & SUPSHIP Program Offices, NAVSEA and NAVSUP, RHOADS Operations, Planning Departments, Purchasing, various Quality Departments, Government Agencies, and EB Off-Site Departments
- Candidates will need to be a decision maker; required to monitor and aid in resolving issues with purchased or subcontract material, material ordering and scheduling, shortage resolution, and forecasting material requirement
- Candidates require daily use of various reports and computer driven systems
This position is located at the Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI location.
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of warehousing/supply chain and/or logistics experience
- Experience in EWP/MRP
- Must be able to travel, as required. This position will require business and EWA travel as necessary to support the Program efforts at other vendor locations
- Must be able to work all shifts
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance from the Department of Defence
Preferred:
- Associates degree or higher in Business or Supply Chain Management
- Experience with warehousing and inventory control
- Experience with Oracle
- Experience in Pitch/Catch
- Strong project management and prioritizing skills
- Military/Navy experience
