The primary role of the Pet Nutrition Plant Operator II is to assist in producing livestock feed products, as well as to ensure quality control, maintenance, and facility cleanliness in daily activities. The roles of the Plant Operator vary based on experience and expertise. This role may involve operating equipment such as an extruder, grinder, mixer, or pellet machine, as well as working in the warehouse. These roles also include packaging, filling, assisting with formulation, and housekeeping. Candidates are well-driven, self-motivated individuals who can work effectively with a close-knit team to meet customers' demands efficiently.

A Sample of What You'll Do in this Role:

  • Set up production lines, inspect materials, and blend according to scheduled jobs and workflow instructions.

  • Operate processing equipment per SOPs and perform quality control throughout production.

  • Accurately document all activities, including processing, maintenance, and cleaning tasks.

  • Maintain facility cleanliness and follow all safety, food safety, FDA, OSHA, and regulatory guidelines.

  • Learn and perform multiple roles (mixing, bagging, forklift, loading) to support plant operations.

  • Report safety or food safety concerns immediately and contribute positively to a team environment.

  • Perform any other duties assigned by management professionally and efficiently.

What You Bring to the Role:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience required

  • Willingness to operate material handling equipment, including forklift and other equipment, as required

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Manual dexterity, must be able to be on your feet for long periods, and must be able to work in a production environment

  • Able to follow written and verbal directions and complete the necessary documentation. The ability to read and write English is required

  • Willing to work overtime hours as needed

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The base compensation for this position ranges from $23.61 - $31.50 per hour. Please note that wages may vary depending on skills and experience.
