Major/Essential Functions POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The Transformation Specialist plays a vital role in advancing US PREP's mission by offering on-the-ground assistance to colleges of education, school districts, and community organizations. Our overarching aim is to ensure that every child, particularly those from marginalized backgrounds such as children of color living in poverty, have access to highly effective teachers.
As a Transformation Specialist, you'll provide technical assistance covering a range of areas, including but not limited to:
- Assisting colleges of education in transforming their teacher preparation programs
- Offering strategic staffing guidance to educator preparation programs and their district partners to support sustainably paid teacher residencies
- Leading communities of practice with multiple educator preparation programs, school district partners, and community organizations to create regional goals around high-quality teacher preparation
- Helping educator preparation programs establish partnerships with community colleges and high schools to build clear, accessible pathways into teaching
- Working with school districts to help them redesign their school staffing models to promote teacher leadership, differentiated compensation, and sustainable workloads.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Project Management: Coordinate and manage various initiatives and projects related to teacher preparation program transformation, school district partnerships, and community engagement efforts.
- Technical Assistance: Provide hands-on support and guidance to colleges of education, school districts, and community organizations in transforming teacher preparation programs and school staffing models.
- Strategic Planning: Assist in developing and implementing strategic plans to improve teacher effectiveness, particularly for students from marginalized backgrounds.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong relationships with colleges of education, school districts, community organizations, and other stakeholders to promote collaboration and achieve shared goals.
- Training and Capacity Building: Develop and deliver training sessions, workshops, and professional development opportunities to build the capacity of educators and administrators to ensure sustainability of initiatives.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Collect, analyze, and interpret data to assess the impact of transformation efforts and identify areas for improvement.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in ongoing reflection, evaluation, and continuous improvement efforts to refine strategies and approaches for achieving the mission and goals of US PREP.
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree plus three years related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate degree preferred
- Experience in effectively coordinating and leading educator preparation transformation efforts
- Experience in adult education or professional development and leading effective teams
- Demonstrated leadership in working with schools that have been historically marginalized
