SUMMARY:

DAWSON is seeking to fill a Network Administrator position for the Defense Health Agency (DHA) on site at Andrews AFB. As the network administrator, the candidate will provide seamless information technology support to the stakeholders of a global system of health, enabling integrated healthcare delivery for those who serve in the defense of our country and their families.

  • Salary Range $80,000 - $115,000 based on experience.
  • Active Secret Clearance is required.
  • NOT REMOTE


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Candidate will coordinate with Ports, Protocol and Service Management (PPSM), Firewall, Virtual Private Network (VPN), and Wide Area Network (WAN) teams to provide end-to-end connectivity support for troubleshooting, implementation, or migration activities pertaining to Datacenter to Desktop configuration. Candidate will provide support to the Military Treatment Facility and associated stakeholders, including providing daily reports on activity changes, escalating issues for awareness and/or assistance when issues are not resolved within 24 hours, supporting the clean-up and close-out process, and develop a close-out report within 30 days that captures the network configuration for the components installed. Candidate will also update ticket trackers and post to the DHA SharePoint folder within Med-COI library and engage in cross-team collaboration as needed.

Other responsibilities include', but are not limited to:



  • Planning: Conducts short- and long-term planning to meet network requirements. Plans and monitors the installation of network systems. Analyzes facilities' bandwidth requirements and system interdependencies. Develops capacity planning models.
  • Network System Design and Implementation: Designs and implements network systems under the guidance of senior network architects or DHA resources. Works as an escalation point for advanced network related troubleshooting. Analyzes network activity and network problems to discover and prevent systematic errors. Recommends network design changes or enhancements for improved systems availability and performance.
  • Disaster Recovery: Ensures mandatory planned testing activities are performed, and technical criteria are met.
  • Cabling: Installation, modification, repair, and abatement of network cables, to include copper and optical fiber. Perform end-to-end cable tests to verify proper functionality. Shall adhere to TIA/EIA-568 Commercial Building Telecommunications cabling standards and Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI) best practices.



Requirements: Excellent level of organization and the ability to understand complicated logistical information, and high attention to detail.



  • A Bachelor's Degree in a related field. Work experience may substitute for education. Minimum one (1) year of experience as a Network Administrator.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent.
  • COMPTIA Security +
  • Background Investigation Tier 5 (SSBI), IAT Level 2 ADP/IT II.
  • Experience with Brocade Network OS (NOS) on Brocade switches and firewalls
  • Basic knowledge of Vizio or similar diagramming software.
  • Strong skills in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, compromise, and solve problems. Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Occasional travel required.
