Position Summary TheSenior Specialist, Procurement will be responsible for day-to-day procurement of supplies, materials, and equipment necessary for the operation of a cGMP facility with the focus on continuous improvement.The role will process requisitions, contact vendors, analyzes bids and triage contract reviews. The Senior Procurement Specialist will research and develop new supplier relationships as needed and be responsible for reviewing and approving new vendor submissions while recommending enhancements to the vendor management process. Essential Functions
- Develop resource tools, and specialized support necessary for cost-effective business solutions.
- Develop effective and efficient procurement strategies customized for a cGMP environment.
- Research and implement cost improvements including but not limited to purchase price variance (PPV), indirect and direct spend, services and payment terms.
- Develop and maintain strong collaborative cross-functional partnerships with internal partners and external partners along with leading experts, and other manufacturing sites.
- Manage and resolve billing issues which arise with vendor accounts receivable and internal accounts payable.
- Create Purchase Requisitions routinely for the indirect and direct purchase of materials and services.
- Manage procurement purchasing of all inputs, equipment, services, raw materials, master service agreements, statement of work and other commodities
- Negotiate procurement contracts and terms with suppliers and vendors.
- Collaborate with our legal department in finalizing contracts with suppliers and amending contracts when required including renewals.
- Partner with senior leadership of multiple business units for planning and prioritizing all procurement activities from lab's to cGMP.
- Ensuring that all orders comply with supplier agreements.
- Review planned orders and managing the approval process to receiving confirmations and delivery.
- Support all quality activities such as material review, complaints management, and CAPA and SCARS.
- Responsible for creating, managing and supporting KPI performance metrics for inventory health, purchase order management, vendor performance, and PPV.
- Perform ad-hoc and cross-functional projects assigned to support all business needs and provide timely response for requested documentation and or information requested.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, or other business-related discipline with 5+ years of relevant procurement experience in cGMP facilities required; or
- Associate's degree in business administration, or other business- related discipline with 7+ years of relevant procurement experience in cGMP facilities required; or
- High School diploma with 9+ years of relevant procurement experience in cGMP facilities required.
- Experience with AX2012 and Dynamics 365 ERP systems preferred
- Experience with a start-up pharmaceutical company preferred along with external manufacturing.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Strong analytical skills combined with practical business acumen.
- Knowledge of working with global sourcing and vendor qualification.
- Familiarity with cGMP, GxP, or ISO standards.
- Ability to thrive in a matrix and diverse cross-functional team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a global organization, with internal and external clients
- Agility in managing multiple tasks within tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, working knowledge of MS applications - Outlook, Power Point, Word, OneNote, Teams
- Familiarity with ERP systems, Dynamics 365, AX2012
- Ability to apply sound judgement and work independently
- Strategic sourcing experience in indirect and direct materials/services.
Working Environment / Physical Environment
- This position works hybrid, or remotely dependent on the candidate's geographic location.
- Regular work schedule is Monday - Friday, within standard business hours. Flexibility is available with manager approval.
- Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer.
- Lift and carry materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
This position is eligible for a discretionary bonus and equity award. The annual base pay range for this position is below. The specific rate will depend on the successful candidate's qualifications, prior experience as well as geographic location. National Market $102,000 (entry-level qualifications) to $114,000 (highly experienced) annually Premium Market $117,00 (entry-level qualifications) to $130,000 (highly experienced) annually The application window is anticipated to close on 60 days from when it is posted or sooner if the position is filled or closed.
