Major/Essential Functions


  • Provide comprehensive counseling to online students regarding financial aid eligibility through virtual, phone, and email conversations.
  • Assists in the oversight of financial aid operations for TTU Online, specifically. May assist with other office projects as needed.
  • Conducts operational processing for all TTU Online students. Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and institutional regulations, laws and policies.
  • Review financial aid applications to determine student eligibility and authorize awards for various federal and state aid programs, including Federal Pell & FSEOG Grants, Federal Direct Subsidized Loans, Texas Grant aid, Unsubsidized Loans, Federal PLUS Loans, and Private Loans.
  • Answer questions and requests from students, parents, or guardians in person or in writing regarding financial aid programs and eligibility. Review campus financial aid processes to ensure the accurate and timely processing of student financial aid files and the proper processing of federal funds in accordance with Title IV regulations. Collaborate with leadership team to ensure campus compliance to regulations, and institutional policies and procedures.
  • Ensure loan requirements such as transfer monitoring are processed timely for awarding and timely disbursement of funds.
  • Will work with Operations team members to review SAP appeals, R2TV calculations, and changed circumstances (Professional Judgement) reviews. Inform students of approval or denial of financial aid appeals; inform students when placed on probation or suspension, or if they have been terminated from a financial aid program.
  • Access federal databases (NSLDS, COD, FSAPartners) to manage and resolve issues.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree plus one year related experience or a combination of education and progressively responsible related experience to equal five years.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Previous Financial Aid or related experience. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
  • Excellent organizational skills; detail oriented; strong communication skills
  • Ability to make quality decisions based on available information; ability to respond effectively in a variety of situations.
