Job Summary

The Interface Engineer 3 (Developer) applies skills as a seasoned, experienced systems integration professional with a full understanding of systems and software integration concepts to evaluate, resolve and implement medium-sized projects or portions of large projects with moderate scope and complexity. Resolves a wide range of business processes, system functionality, implementation issues and system and software integration issues. Demonstrates competency in selecting tools, methods and techniques to obtain results. Gives technical presentations to associated team and other technical units. Evaluates new technologies including performing moderate to complex cost / benefit analyses. May lead a team of systems / infrastructure professionals.

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position

  • Bachelors Degree in a related field or 4+ years experience working in IT on integration related projects.
  • 2 years experience working with interface messaging in a health care environment or prior experience with developing interfaces using an interface engine.
  • Demonstrated experience learning and using various programming languages and methodologies, APIs, web services, or integration tools to adapt to the needs of the business.
  • Plans, designs, develops, modifies, and deploys complex systems integration solutions and engineers' complex solutions to address integration of vendor, community source, and locally developed hardware and / or software systems and subsystems to achieve an integrated implementation.
  • Analyzes and assesses potential products during early project phases to identify components which can be integrated to achieve high level system objectives. Identifies, evaluates, recommends and implements changes to existing tools, or new tools needed, may research or coordinate with venders to identify solutions.
  • Acquires and utilizes detailed business process knowledge in order to address technical objectives and address all phases of the business process and technical life-cycle.
  • Leads technical collaboration teams on complex system interconnectivity concepts, design, and testing requirements. Understands and organizes the requirements and changes and advises system and architecture groups on incorporating needed requirements and implement testing of completed requirements.
  • Develops complex monitoring protocols across multiple networks and platforms, including traffic and usage, performance of the system, metric testing, troubleshooting and identification of metric issues and system optimization for complex multi-platform environments.
  • Provides configuration management support. Develops and maintains the build environment, the source code control system and the issue tracking systems. Creates and tests builds, resolves issues, applies labels to file and communicates build status. Responsible for building scripts and installation procedures and develops and maintains an automated build process with automatic notification of build and unit test failure problems to responsible engineers. Responsible for maintaining project software and documentation inventory and configuration baselines.
  • Provides technical support and advanced knowledge of systems integration for EDI database analysis, design, and operations and ensures security of data, systems and networks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Epic Bridges or similar EHR messaging system
  • Experience with InterSystems IRIS for Health / Ensemble / HealthShare
  • Familiar with Interface Engine Technology.
  • Familiar with Managed File Transfer systems.
  • Familiar with Epic Bridges interface subsystem.
  • Familiar with Object Script, JavaScript, Python or other object-oriented programming language.
  • Familiar with relational database design and theory; IRIS/Cache, SQL Server, Oracle.
  • Familiar with TCP/IP networking protocols.
  • Familiar with EPIC Chronicles.
  • Familiar with REST and SOAP based web service development.
  • Familiar with project management methodology.

The Interface Engineer 3 (Developer) is an experienced professional who knows how to apply theory and put it into practice with in-depth understanding of the professional field; independently performs the full range of responsibilities within the function; possesses broad job knowledge; analyzes problems / issues of diverse scope and determines solutions.
