- Lovelace Medical Center is an acute care hospital with 263 licensed beds, providing comprehensive care, including around-the-clock emergency care, surgical services, non-invasive robotic spine surgery, stroke care, radiology, and oncology services.
Responsibilities
- The pharmacy technician specialist is responsible for the day-to-day operations of technician specialty practice areas (billing, diversion, automation, medication history, and others).
- They will provide user support, perform maintenance activities and troubleshooting, monitor proper functionality, and ensure policies and procedures are both documented and followed.
- Coordinates upgrade testing activities, education, and serves as the subject matter expert for the technician specialty practice area.
- Does related work, as required, and, under the supervision of a pharmacist, will assist in the technical, non-clinical aspects of preparing medications for dispensing, mixing IVs, managing inventory, and assisting in pharmacy operations.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- High School graduate or GED.
- 3+ years of previous hospital pharmacy technician experience (inclusive of training programs).
- 1-year experience with identified specialty systems/processes.
- Active Registered Pharmacy Technician in good standing with the Board of Pharmacy, if required by the state of employment.
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT).
- BLS within 90 days of hire or transfer date into the role.
