Job Description:

The Role:

Our site in San Luis Obispo, CA.is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer. The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for design, detailing, and documenting electrical and electro-mechanical systems used in Ultra High Purity (UHP) gas purification systems assembled at our facility.

What You'll Do:

  • Create and refine mechanical components and sub-systems.
  • Work cross functionally to integrate mechanical systems with electrical and controls sub-systems.
  • Conduct simulations and analysis to evaluate system performance and reliability.
  • Conduct rigorous testing and validation to ensure performance, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including fellow mechanical engineers, controls engineers, and electrical engineers for full systems integration.
  • Analyze and optimize purification processes to enhance efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and minimize environmental impact.
  • Prepare detailed technical documentation, including engineering drawings, design specifications, and test reports.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in gas purification technologies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

What We Seek:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in mechanical engineering with a Bachelor's degree; or 3-6 years of experience with a Master's degree.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD software, and simulation tools (e.g., SolidWorks Simulation, ANSYS).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems and processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Advises and mentors less experienced engineers.
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for innovation and sustainability

  • Compensation: $93,000-$116,000/yr range with actual pay dependent on candidate overall skills for the role.
