Overview
This position is contingent upon the successful award of a contract currently under bid. Goldbelt Integrated Logistics Services (GbILS) provides four specific areas of expertise-Logistics Engineering, Measurement Sciences, Program Management, and Technical Support-serving the scientific, technical, and engineering needs of clients. Summary: Aircraft Painters will perform a variety of tasks involved in the preparation and application of protective coatings on aircraft and related components. All work must be completed in accordance with Air Force Technical Orders, USCG specifications, and applicable safety regulations.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Provide support in maintaining ALC's general ledger.
- Support ledgers and supporting documentation.
- Support the ALC's risk management efforts.
- Provide analysis of various processes throughout ALC that affect costs and/or budget.
- Provide any other accounting and administrative services as needed.
Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
Prepare surfaces using chemical and mechanical methods including stripping, sanding, blasting, buffing, and treating. Apply epoxy primers, lacquers, enamels, and polyurethanes via conventional and air-assisted spray. Read and interpret blueprints, maintenance manuals, and other technical documents. Apply and inspect masking; create stencils, lettering, decals, and insignias. Seal holes and seams using proper materials. Operate various blasting and cleaning equipment. Maintain clean work areas and tools. Perform corrosion inspection and ensure coating compliance. Follow all safety and quality standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in sheet metal and composite paint application and removal. Proven skill in spraying high-solids polyurethane topcoats without defects. Ability to work individually or as part of a team with a strong focus on quality and deadlines. Must be able to climb ladders, work in confined areas, and lift up to 40 pounds. Must be enrolled in a Respiratory Protection Program and medically cleared per 29 CFR 1910.134. Familiarity with paint tools including sanders, paint guns, and surface prep equipment.
