Procurement Project Manager - Direct Sourcing

As a Procurement Project Manager, you will be trusted to lead and manage a portfolio of key initiatives within Alcon's Manufacturing and Technical Operations (MTO) Procurement organization. This role will report to the Director, Procurement Centre of Excellence.

In this role, a typical day will include:

Performance Management, Intelligence and Analytics

  • Regularly prepare and present monthly dashboard reports to Procurement, Finance and MTO Leadership in collaboration with the Analytics Manager to present PPV scorecard, spend analysis variances and project milestone dashboards.
  • Coordinate and prepare the global initiatives that are presented at Direct Sourcing Councils and develop project charters for pipeline savings initiatives by outlining key milestones for projects >$1M in savings
  • Acts as the SPOC for Direct Procurement LT team in driving agendas, ensuring effective collaboration, capturing action items, and monitoring execution progress
  • Develops and maintains Market and Supplier Intelligence in support of the procurement strategy.
  • Coordinating budget submissions for Direct Procurement: working with site procurement heads and controllers along with BPAs.
  • Presentation & communication: scheduling meetings (quarterly Direct Procurement Global, monthly LT meetings and establishing regular cadence with Franchise. Slide deck preparation to support DSCs and any ad hoc.
  • Consolidate and present data across the Procurement organization, delivering accurate information, variance analysis, and executive-level reporting.

Organization Development

  • Identifies, coordinates and implements organizational improvements (e.g. transformation, capability building, system and process adoption, RFP templates, category playbooks, supplier performance scorecard)
  • Develop and manage the centralized supplier dashboard with legacy information on the issues, savings, communication channels in the portal Supplier Relationships management.
  • Coordinates and consolidates Risk Management activity
  • Ensures standards and ideal approaches are deployed in projects being delivered

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
  • 5 Years of Relevant Experience
  • Prior experience in Project Management and analytics; excellent MS Excel skills.
  • Prior experience in Procurement, specifically with Sourcing of Direct Materials. Additional experience in manufacturing or engineering, is desirable.
  • Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills with ability to alternate between helicopter view and high attention to detail & accuracy
  • Ability to conduct high quality (quantitative & qualitative) analyses to communicate a story to key stakeholders
  • Diplomatic skills to influence others at all levels of the business and manage relationships with internal partners
  • Strong skills in creating and maintaining project and program plans
  • Proven track record for planning, completing, monitoring and closing projects
  • Excellent written/oral communication skills for reports and presentations
