Account Specialist II - Construction & Infrastructure Group

What the day will look like

  • Performs account servicing functions including miscellaneous office duties in support of account servicing.
  • Collects and analyzes data on exposures, loss history and standard and unique coverage needs for submissions.
  • Handles client open items lists and responds to client ad-hoc requests.
  • Captures and analyzes data and drafts assigned elements of client service plans, stewardship reports and other convincing presentations tailored to the needs of the audience and the circumstances of the presentation.
  • Actively supports and supervises the renewal process. At the direction of the Account Executive, drafts quote comparisons and follows up for binders, policies and endorsements.
  • Attends renewal meetings with Account Executives (as needed)
  • Where applicable, serves as the primary collaborate with Aon Client Services (ACS), coordinating activities of the client service team and ACS to ensure that key processes assigned are performed effectively.
  • Receives and handles routine and complex coverage inquiries and endorsement requests. Serves as key client liaison for items such as certificates, auto IDs, location additions, invoices, WC posting notices, allocations, premium finance agreements, summaries of insurance, and policy transmittals.

How this opportunity is different

The Account Specialist handles key Aon processes that serve clients. You are responsible for helping manage client relationships, for the internal processes and communication that contribute to the value delivered to clients. Account Specialists are required to have the ability to maintain relationships between the Client, the Account Executive and the Brokers.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

Required Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience within the insurance industry, construction experience highly preferred.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
  • Effective presentation skills
  • Knowledge of construction insurance.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in PC office products such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook is required, Evidence of ability to become proficient in the use of Aon specific software tools.
  • Advanced experience in Excel utilizing complex spreadsheets.
  • Active P&C insurance license (or required within 4 months of employment)

Education:

  • Bachelors' Degree or equivalent years of experience.

Pay Transparency Laws:

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $70,000 - $85,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on the applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on the applicant's geographic location.

The salary range reflected is based on a primary work location of Chicago, IL. The actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location.
