Summary

Responsible for supervising the delivery of case management and correctional program services to assigned inmates. Directly supervises the case managers and inmate job coordinator. Makes routine decisions affecting case management and coordinates major decisions with the management.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensures training is conducted, staff performance is evaluated and personnel changes are recommended to the management.
• Ensures the departmental budget is monitored and expenses controlled.
• Ensures development and implementation of new and revised policies and procedures affecting case management.
• Supervises inmate photo visits.
• Coordinates and facilitates inmate orientations.
• Supervises the inmate recreation program.
• Collects data and prepares reports as assigned.
• Coordinates and oversees inmate fund raising.
• Processes inmate grievance within time frames.
• Directs oversight of work program assignment process.
• Promotes the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed.
• Maintains accountability of staff, inmates and property; adhere to safety practices.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or related filed and three (3) years criminal justice experience required. One (1) year of supervisory experience preferred. Directly related experience may be considered in lieu of formal education requirements if approved by management.
• Valid driver's license in the state in which the work is performed and an acceptable diving record required, unless waived by management.
• Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
