Position Summary: Technicians are responsible for performing the necessary maintenance and shop functions to maintain the facility and/or equipment under supervision Fabrication Lead. Primary Responsibilities:
- Comply with all Safety rules, Nestle Integrated Management System and all other company policies and procedures
- Completion of AMM (Asset and Maintenance Management) work orders using shop equipment or portable equipment for work in the Fabrication area and other departments such as pilot plants
- Perform required maintenance of the facility, machinery, and equipment.
- Welding of base metals 304L & 316L. Hand GTAW welding of sanitary tubing used to transfer liquid product is required.
- Pipe fitting skills are preferred.
- Fabrication experience required. Welders, drill press, various hand tools and grinders
- Perform maintenance and fabrication type welding TIG, MIG, and Stick welding. Figure routes, materials and connection types for flanged, threaded NPT, Socket weld, sweat copper or butt weld connections
- Operate machines to size, shape or form metal
- Accurately read and interpret drawing, blueprints, and sketches
- Ability to follow verbal instructions and interpret rough sketches effectively.
- Collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Availability to work weekends, including Sundays, and holidays to support emergency maintenance or production activities as necessary.
- Ensure the cleaning of equipment and work areas at the end of each shift to maintain a safe and tidy work environment.
- Demonstrate proficiency in reading mechanical prints, ensuring high-quality output and productivity.
- Engage and collaborate with project teams as needed.
- Participate in Technical Training Classes and share acquired knowledge with colleagues.
Job Qualifications (Minimum Education, Experience, and Knowledge)
- High school diploma or equivalent; certificate, specializing in TIG welding highly preferred
- Minimum 1-2 years of related experience in TIG welding in a stainless steel environment highly preferred
- Good knowledge of Maintenance, Welding and/or Fabrication Shop operations with demonstrated expertise in two of these skilled trade areas. Has adequate knowledge to work in these trades to work seamlessly in a dynamic team.
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
- Good Computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel)
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Good basic math skills. Can convert fractions to decimals. Can accurately read a tape measure.
