Welder / Fabricator Description: Keller Electrical, a division of OTC Industrial, is seeking a skilled Welder/Fabricator to join our Mechanical Services Division. This division is responsible for welding and mechanical projects that support Keller's motor repair shop and other departments. In addition to providing support, the Mechanical Division handles the fabrication and installation of miscellaneous metal packages for municipalities, supports industrial fabrication and erection, and manages general fabrication tasks. This position requires both shop and field work. In addition to welding skills the ideal candidate would possess Millwright / Mechanical knowledge. Competitive Pay: This position offers an hourly wage ranging from $27.00 - $31.00/hr., depending on experience and qualifications. Welder requirements:
- Stick, MIG and TIG welding experience
- 6G qualifications preferred and must be proficient in acquiring D1.1 certification upon hire
- Identify different filler materials and uses
- Read basic shop sketches, drawings and blueprints
- Read and interpret difficult isometric drawings and blueprints accurately
- Layout and fit up components per drawings and specifications with minimal supervision
- Strong fabrication skills with structural and pipe shapes
- Pipe fit-up and fabrication of simple and complex systems
- Weld with all sizes of wire and electrodes
- Set up and operate electric and engine-driven welding equipment
- Set up and operate oxygen acetylene cutting equipment
- Set up and operate hand-held plasma-cutting equipment
- Operate rigging equipment and perform simple to complex rigging operations small and large
- Experience with overhead cranes operation a plus
- Experience with the use of mobile cranes and crane signaling a plus
- Operate mobile equipment forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts
- Work safely and productively at all times while adhering to Keller Safety Policies
- Maintain Minimum Tool List
- Maintain personal welder PPE
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Work involves almost constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, bio-hazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or constant loud noise
- Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds. Physical work is a primary part (more than 60%) of job
- Work environment can involve exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment
General Requirements
- Be self-sufficient, have excellent problem-solving skills, and work efficiently with a high level accuracy of accuracy
- Be willing to travel to different locations throughout Arizona
- Be willing to work long hours when required
- MSHA certification a plus
- Have a professional demeanor and the ability to work with others
- Must have reliable transportation and submit preemployment MVR
- Preemployment drug screen and background check required
- 3-5yrs experience required
