Overview

This is a remote role that may be hired in several markets across the United States.

This Second Line of Defense role is responsible for assessment and oversight of risks taken by the Bank at an advanced level of ability. Oversees First Line of Defense activities through objective risk assessment, effective challenge, monitoring, and reporting of the Bank's Risk Profile, including top and emerging risks. Provides leadership, consultation, and support for risk management techniques, practices, and procedures that protect the Bank from loss or exposure. Facilitates the development of analyses and reports to support the appropriate identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting of new or existing risks. Assists in the review and enhancement of internal controls. Maintains a strong knowledge of new or emerging risk management techniques and trends through professional networking and industry involvement. Develops collaborative partnerships with internal departments, external auditors, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders to support the company's Risk Management Framework.


Responsibilities

You will be a part of FCB's Model Governance team within the Model Risk Management (MRM) department and will be responsible for leading a variety of activities around the Model Lifecycle. The specific responsibilities will include:

    • Policy and Standard Oversight - Maintenance, socialization, and training over MRM governing documentation, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory guidelines.
    • Risk Assessment - Identify, assess, and quantify risks associated with enterprise model risk. Prepare reports on findings, issues, exceptions and propose mitigation strategies.
    • Documentation and Reporting - Prepare comprehensive documentation for internal and external stakeholders
    • Collaboration- Work closely with stakeholders across various departments to gather necessary information to support model risk reporting, risk aggregation, and escalation

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Operational Risk, Risk Management in Financial Services OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Operational Risk, Risk Management in Financial Services

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Degree in Financial Services, Enterprise Risk Management, Operational Risk Management, Compliance, Audit, Finance, or Accounting
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience working at a Large Financial Institution that adheres to SR 11-7 guidelines
  • Experience working in Model Risk Management, Operational Risk, Enterprise Risk Management, Regulatory, or Internal Audit

The base pay for this position is generally between $115,000.00 and $160,000.00. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
