Job Description

This position plays a key role in supporting Visa's strategic sales initiatives aimed at increasing payment volume and revenue for a major U.S. financial institution client. Responsibilities include driving account growth, expanding current portfolios, and identifying new opportunities for engagement. Collaboration is central to the role, requiring close partnership with both Visa teams and the client to deliver tailored solutions across product, marketing, and analytics disciplines. A solid understanding of financial data and the ability to translate operational and client insights into actionable implementation plans are essential.

The individual in this role will engage with Money Movement Solutions, Value-Added Services, Global and North America Product teams, Finance, Visa Consulting & Analytics, Marketing Services, and technical experts. They will contribute to major projects, support customized integration efforts, enhance strategic value for the client, and cultivate strong stakeholder relationships.

Visa is seeking a professional with expertise in payments strategy, who can thrive in an environment that is fast-paced, complex, and occasionally ambiguous. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and negotiation abilities are crucial. This role reports to the Senior Director overseeing a national account.

The ideal candidate brings success in building effective partnerships and delivering innovative solutions within the payments and technology space. Creativity, decisiveness, and a collaborative communication style are key, along with a demonstrated ability to help clients achieve their strategic objectives.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Support payments strategy goals for this account with internal Visa stakeholders and the client's team, while engaging with cross-functional partners.

  • Have a strategic mindset by understanding client needs, and implementing innovative solutions.

  • Manage key projects related to the client's payments vision and strategy on Visa products, flows, platforms, and solutions, while developing relationships with key decision-makers.

  • Understand market trends and competitor actions to develop and implement proactive strategies for the client.

  • Partner with lead Account Executives and other business partners, while supporting the sales and strategy for key solutions.

  • Focus on execution and deliverables with a proven record of exceeding goals.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
  • 12 or more years of relevant business development experience, preferably in payments
  • Understanding of payment systems and products (e.g., card networks, digital wallets, money movement, consumer, small business, co-brand development, debit, credit) and ecosystem participants.
  • Experienced solution sales leader with a record of accomplishment for delivering results, must possess the ability to identify the inspired path forward to partner, structure creative partnership constructs, and demonstrate success in contract negotiations to drive new business.
  • Strong customer-facing communication skills. Experience in managing relationships and cultivating deep, trusted partnerships with clients and partners. Ability to explain complex business concepts to broad audiences in an engaging way.
  • Natural collaborator with excellent communication skills. Must be self-motivated and comfortable with ambiguity, possessing the maturity and competence to influence across multiple levels and organizations including internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and group presentation skills. Executive presence, and comfortable presenting with the C-suite.
  • Demonstrated thought leadership and the aptitude to challenge the status quo and identify new opportunities to innovate and differentiate.
Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 152,200 to 245,400 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
