A Brief Overview

Performs diagnostic imaging at the direction of physician protocol and within scope of the position. Provides compassionate age-specific care to patients from neonates through geriatrics.

What You Will Do



  • Displays a commitment to the organizations mission and values.
  • Demonstrates successful patient/technical imaging skills by producing a variety of radiological exams while maintaining the highest standards of patient care.
  • Consistently follows hospital and department guidelines for patient identification and safety.
  • Consistently follows hospital and department SOPs, policies and protocols.
  • Maintains GXMO licensure and continuing education requirements, as applicable.
  • Maintains competencies and skill levels for patient exam imaging
  • Maintains a responsibility for self-development with support for the learning environment of the hospital and the department of Radiology.
  • Helps maintain department readiness based on DNV standards.
  • Collaborates effectively with co-workers and staff to ensure that assignments are complete in a professional and effective manner.
  • Provides age-specific care to patients from neonates through geriatrics.
  • The Radiology GXMO will work within the scope as defined by the Ohio Department of Health which includes general x-ray where a registered technologist is on-site within the radiology department.
  • The Radiology GXMO will not independently perform fluoroscopic procedures, portable x-ray exams, or surgical exams.


Additional Responsibilities



  • Uses administrative skills to contribute to the successful operation of the department by entering and completing correct billing codes in RIS.
  • Ensures all equipment is functioning and demonstrates ability to initiate service repair process.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
