Job Summary:

The Senior Field Engineer II - LSS must be able to understand LSS Systems including Fire Alarm Panels and Early Warning Smoke Detection Systems. This includes being able to read and work through the Fire Alarm Panel Keypad. This included terminating and testing field devices. Understanding and reading one-line diagrams. Will need to understand circuitry and be able to trouble shoot.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment problems in a senior service support role. That includes testing, troubleshooting of system components and functions and field verification of connections, labels, installation and work quality. Understands advanced system drawings, specifications and technical manuals. They will be able to create shop drawings and submittals for new project kick-off. Manages the technical work in the field with little supervision Works both "in house" and in the field when required. Assumes ownership of project installation giving support to field staff and project manager. This includes providing advanced support for field installation staff. Assists with maintaining and completing project punch-list for project close outs. Oversees the technical aspects of projects. Performs quality-checks on the projects, tests all equipment and functionality and creates punch lists. Assists sales staff as needed with product and system demonstrations. Be able to Write and Submit Project RFI's. Be able to price out change orders in IESOS Classic Be able to Communicate and attend meetings with General Contractor and System Owners. Conduct detailed field walks for prospective or change order opportunities and provide comprehensive written scope narratives, system outlines, and constructability notes to assist Estimating in crafting accurate proposals. Identify and document existing conditions, infrastructure constraints, and access limitations during site assessments to inform bid strategies and value engineering options. Interface with subcontractors during pre-construction activities; set up and coordinate site walks, review scope alignment, and obtain written proposals or bids as required. Serve as a technical liaison between the field and Pre-Construction/Estimating, helping bridge gaps in design intent, sequence of operations, and field feasibility. When workload allows, assist the Quality and Training department by developing or delivering structured guidance for Leads and Superintendents on project setup, documentation organization, and workflow planning. Support the development of best practices and job readiness materials to help new leaders understand expectations around job closeout, documentation control, and startup execution. Handles other responsibilities as assigned. Min USD $36.00/Hr. Max USD $38.00/Hr.

Qualifications

Physical and Mental Requirements:

Must be self-motivated, positive in approach, professional and lead others to create, develop and implement project process improvement(s). Must have proven problem solving skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentation(s). Must be able to diagnose and fix problems with existing equipment and new installs. Must be enthusiastic, passionate, patient and a critical thinker. Must be able to communicate with the customer and have excellent customer service skills. Must have proven high skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to, specifications, reporting and quality requirements. Must able to travel within branch territory and/or regional territory as needed. Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements: Must have at least a High School diploma or GED equivalency; Bachelor's Degree preferred. Will have at least 3-4 year's commercial low-voltage/structured cabling experience. Must be able to work well with other people Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and MS Project). Must meet Company minimum driving standards. Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously. Must have demonstrated verifiable ability to define a project, create a project scope of work, develop detailed associated tasks and manage these to final completion and customer turnover.
