THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Administrative Assistant 2, you will be responsible for providing oversight for the four Potter County senior centers and supervising Senior Center Operators to ensure that the centers remain in compliance with all Department of Aging regulations. You will collaborate with the Health & Wellness Advisory Board and ensure that all necessary programs are being provided within the centers. Strong attention to detail is exercised to prepare comprehensive financial and statistical reports regarding donations, in addition to completing data entry and ensuring all participant files are current and accurate.


This professional also oversees the Senior Farm Market Nutrition Program, participates in menu planning, and arranges for contracted dietary services such as meal monitoring, and nutritional counseling and education. Within this role, you will have the opportunity to assist the county centers in developing, planning, and implementing various events and fundraisers through the efficient utilization of available grants. You will also be required to complete the Food Safety Certification course in accordance with state regulations.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience as a staff assistant to an administrative officer or as a technician in a staff service of a large organization; and such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Potter County. If no eligible candidates who live within Potter County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
