Introduction

We are seeking a Manufacturing Technician utilized their advanced skills and knowledge to builds and test within our NXE work center. Their duties will include but not limited to; build and testing and performing various procedures on and document sub-system assemblies, functional test, equipment calibration, station setup and process development support. Recommend changes in design, methods, and procedures to enhance product quality.

This position is for 2nd shift. The schedule will be M-F 3:00pm-11:30pm

Role and Responsibilities

  • Use standardized tools and electronic equipment (e.g., torque wrenches, electric and pneumatic screwdrivers, ball drivers, lifting equipment, computers, oscilloscopes) to assemble, install, remove, test, and troubleshoot.

  • Perform a variety of moderately complex technical service/support duties requiring specialized knowledge (e.g., sub-assembly, assembly, build, test, R&D, QA).

  • Interface with engineers to support special tests and experiments with detailed instructions.

  • Document and monitor safety or security violations critical to product quality or operations.

  • Use specialized test equipment such as leak testing, Hi-Pot, and alignment instruments.

  • Pressurize gas and water systems with helium and troubleshoot failures.

  • Read and understand business documents such as Bill of Materials, routing sheets, inventory records, and work instructions.

  • Apply labels to panels, modules, and doors according to cleanliness and workmanship standards.

  • Use cleaning cloths with acetone, methanol, and isopropyl alcohol to wipe surfaces prior to shipping product.

  • Maintain a clean work area and sustain 5S standard work areas.

  • Install electrical connectors to modules.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Associate's Degree in a technical or scientific field is highly desired.

  • Experience using electronic/pneumatic tools.

  • Experience working off of blueprints and technical drawing.

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to translate, statistically analyze data, and effectively report problems through written and/or graphical formats.

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email systems.

  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and drawings.

  • Strong mechanical and/or electronic background preferred.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and correct problems in complex software-driven electronic systems (not circuit-board troubleshooting).

  • Familiarity with cleanroom protocol preferred.

  • Proficiency with a wide variety of tools and equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, voltage and current probes, multimeters, chart recorders, helium sniffers)

  • Must be able to sit, walk, talk, hear, use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch.

  • Occasionally required to move around the campus.

  • May occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

  • Must be able to work under deadlines.

  • Environment is generally moderate in temperature and noise level.

  • Must wear approved cleanroom attire: facemask, hood, coveralls, safety shoes, eyewear, and gloves.

  • Must be able to read and interpret data, information, and documents.

  • Must be able to observe and respond to people and situations and interact with others encountered in the course of work.

  • Must be able to learn and apply new information or skills.
