ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



  • Lead compliance programs related to air emissions (CAA), water discharges (CWA), waste management (RCRA), EPCRA, and TSCA.
  • Develop, maintain, and update environmental permits, reports, and records (e.g., TRI, Tier II, NPDES, Title V, Stormwater).
  • Act as the site subject matter expert (SME) on environmental regulations and best practices.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and environmental risk assessments; identify gaps and drive corrective actions.
  • Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams, ensuring proper handling, storage, labeling, and disposal in compliance with regulations.
  • Coordinate and interface with regulatory agencies during inspections, permitting, and reporting activities.
  • Lead training programs for employees and contractors on environmental procedures and compliance requirements.
  • Support sustainability and continuous improvement initiatives, including energy efficiency, waste reduction, and emissions reduction projects.
  • Track and report environmental performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, maintenance, engineering, and corporate EHS.



REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of environmental compliance experience in the chemical manufacturing or process industry.
  • Strong knowledge of EPA, OSHA, and state/local environmental regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience with Title V air permitting, wastewater management, and waste minimization programs.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proficiency with environmental management systems (EMS) and reporting software.
  • Ability to visual, design, and implement systematic EHS improvements
  • Strong skills related to leadership, teamwork, interpersonal relations / communications, customer focus, influencing/impact, work management, and results-orientation
