Description
MES Solutions is seeking an experienced accounting professional to join the team as a Staff Accountant! This position will be in-office in either the Atlanta, GA office or Woburn, MA office. The schedule is standard business hours Monday - Friday (ex: 8 - 5, 8:30 - 5:30, etc.) The Staff Accountant is responsible for a full range of accounting responsibilities that include accounts receivable, accounts payable, account audit and reconciliation. This position works under tight deadlines and performs a multitude of various accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, intercompany transactions, year-end audit preparation and ensures all work is accurate, timely, and handled in accordance with all company policies and procedures and state and federal guidelines. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Accounts Receivable:
- Process and post all cash receipts with accuracy
- Claim intercompany receipts and process accordingly
- Prepare and send billing statements and reports to clients
- Provide research and assistance to clients regarding billing errors or other inquiries
- Provide solutions and supporting documentation to clients
- Identify and take action on all delinquent accounts
- Report any customer service or payment performance issues to the manager
- Complete credit memos and debit memos and process customer refunds with accuracy
- Maintain positive working relationships with clients
Accounts Payable:
- Maintain systematic, accurate, and timely processing of all accounts payable including, but not limited to, vendor invoicing and payment, pre-payment requests, W-9 information and vendor files
- Provide assistance to all vendors seeking information or status of payment
- Identify and investigate any issues with provider bills and obtains mutual resolution of discrepancies
- Maintain accurate record of all W-9 information and ensure all W-9 information is in place prior to issuing payment
- Obtain approval on all vendor bills according to company policy and ensure timely payment
- Prepare, gain approval and manage weekly check run
- Report any unresolved disputes with physicians or vendors to management for resolution
Qualifications
- Associates Degree with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance required
- 3+ years accounting experience required
- Accounts payable, accounts receivable and account reconciliation experience required
- Reporting and budgeting experience preferred
- Experience with financial statement preparation preferred
- Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, decimals, fractions, hours & minutes, and possess the ability to compute rates and percentages
- Must be knowledgeable in multiple software programs, including, but not limited to, Great Plains, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Must demonstrates a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information and look for ways to improve and promote quality and monitors own work to ensure quality is met
- Ability to collect and research data and analyze complex or diverse information
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality
- Must be able to demonstrate and promote a positive team -oriented environment
