The Data team is responsible for the implementation and design of data pipelines, ecommerce site tags, tools to ingest data from eCommerce and Retail systems into our data repositories, and visualization of data to help stakeholders (business owners, product owners, and management) make data-driven decisions on how best to run the omni-channel business and serve our consumers within their regional markets and worldwide.

At New Balance, we seek active learners who love to use technology to solve challenging problems. You will be working with modern technologies and frameworks, collaborating with the team to help position New Balance as an innovator for years to come.

  • Champion a culture of strong data usage, privacy, compliance, resiliency, integrity, and reliability across teams and stakeholders.

  • Contribute across all phases of the software development lifecycle in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe): planning, design, implementation, deployment, operations, and support.

  • Communicate effectively with associates and business contacts, promoting a strong sense of teamwork.

  • Build globally scalable templates for data gathering and visualization.

  • Inform stakeholder direction and data practices to enable informed, data-driven decisions for ecommerce and retail operations.

  • Provide regular updates to management and architects on project status, risks, and technology issues, and propose suitable alternatives.

  • Offer assessments and recommendations on the design of data systems, tools, and vendors within the omni-channel data space.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in data architecture, science, engineering, or a related field in the software engineering space.

  • Experience using AI-powered productivity tools such as GitHub Copilot and Microsoft Copilot.

  • Knowledge of data privacy and relevant legislation (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; collaborative team player.

  • Commitment to standards, policies, and procedures to ensure high-quality, maintainable solutions.

  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities with sound judgment.
