Global Communications is a team of more than 150 best-in-class communications professionals. The PR team is responsible for leading Cisco's corporate and technology PR programs, as well as crafting and delivering clear and compelling narratives that grab the attention of media and influencers.

We are seeking a PR Manager to drive communications strategy for our industry-leading security portfolio. This role is pivotal in shaping stories that spotlight Cisco's leadership in AI-powered cybersecurity innovation and how we're helping security teams navigate today's rapidly evolving and increasingly complex threat landscape.

With a passion for cutting-edge security technologies, this candidate will bring strong media relationships across business, trade, and influencer channels. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker and skilled writer who can thrive in a matrixed organization, partner closely with executives and customers, and collaborate globally to strengthen Cisco's leadership narrative in security.

  • Lead proactive PR strategy and execution for Cisco's security product portfolio, driving alignment on how these solutions are embedded across Cisco's larger platform to deliver better outcomes for our customers..
  • Serve as strategic counsel to senior executives across product, marketing, sales, and engineering; collaborate cross-functionally with other communications teams (including analyst relations, digital communications) to drive integrated, global storytelling.
  • Build and manage relationships with top-tier tech, trade, and business media.
  • Source and strategize differentiated security storylines, then develop messaging, media pitches, Q&As, thought leadership materials, and press releases.
  • Collaborate across the PR team to consistently amplify Cisco's security narrative as part of the broader company strategy.
  • Manage PR agency support and optimize team output for quality and scale.
  • Drive media coverage that builds trust, increases product awareness, and boosts customer engagement.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 8+ years in public relations or strategic communications, with a focus on enterprise technology and experience in cybersecurity innovation/product storytelling.
  • Deep understanding of cybersecurity trends and the impact of AI on the future of security and IT infrastructure.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills with strong news judgment.
  • Demonstrated success in media relations and executive communications, with experience supporting high-profile product launches and executive platforms.
  • Comfortable operating in a matrixed organization across functions and geographies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience leading PR initiatives for enterprise security solutions or cybersecurity companies.
  • Prior experience at or with a PR agency serving enterprise technology clients.
  • Global mindset and comfort working across time zones and international teams.
  • Proven track record of integrating PR efforts with digital communications, including social, paid media, and event communications to maximize audience reach.
