Position Title: Early Psychosis Intervention Clinician
Location: Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center

Position Summary:
The Early Psychosis Intervention Clinician will work exclusively as part of a dedicated, multi-disciplinary team serving patients aged 13-30 experiencing new onset psychosis and schizophrenia. This role offers the opportunity for intensive, impactful work with a manageable caseload of approximately 25 patients within the Early Psychosis Intervention Clinic.

The clinician will deliver comprehensive care through social skills training, structured behavioral interventions, weekly patient and family groups, and psychoeducation. Additional responsibilities include helping clients access necessary entitlements through state agencies, assisting with practical needs such as connecting to primary care providers and financial management, and conducting outreach in the community.

This position requires frequent in-person engagement with patients and their families across various settings, including the clinic, community, and patients' homes. The clinician will also provide counseling and rehabilitative therapy to individuals with psychiatric and substance use needs, conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, develop and implement treatment plans, and monitor progress.



Qualifications:

Education:




  • Master's degree in Applied Psychology or a related field required.




Required Licensure, Certification, On-going Training:

Maryland LGPC required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:




  • Thorough knowledge of community resources relevant to the needs, symptoms, and functional impairments of the patient population.



  • Understanding of the medical and psychosocial impacts of illness and their effects on social functioning.



  • Ability to work independently in a mental health or healthcare setting with minimal supervision.



  • Strong analytical skills to assess patient needs, develop complex treatment modalities, and provide effective counseling.



  • Proficiency in integrating multiple information sources and applying behavioral health frameworks to create comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and treatment plans responsive to patient and family needs.



  • Ability to initiate appropriate corrective actions and apply conflict resolution principles in clinical situations.



  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills.



  • Proficiency with electronic medical records, email, and general office and communications equipment.



  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills to effectively and professionally interact with hospital staff, healthcare professionals, patients, and families.





Salary Range: Minimum $34.11/hour - Maximum $56.34/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.



In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
