Iowa Health Care Urgent Care is seeking a Limited Technologist to perform general diagnostic radiography procedures utilizing complex imaging equipment with close patient monitoring during exam and assists the members of the nursing team in provision of multiple types of patient care in our ambulatory care areas, Urgent Care Clinics. Duties Include:
- Perform radiography procedures limited to; Chest, Extremities, Shoulder, and Spine using a variety of imaging equipment. Operate fixed radiographic equipment to produce diagnostic imaging studies.
- Independently obtain and record vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
- Carries out medical asepsis when performing skills and tasks including but not limited to phlebotomy
- Performs routine laboratory testing including but not limited to urinalyses, rapid antigen kit tests, and various point of care tests. Performs, or may direct performance of, data entry, labeling and processing of laboratory specimens.
- Has knowledge and understanding of key Service Excellence principles for interactions with patients and staff.
- Cleans areas per designated guidelines and standards demonstrating proper use of approved disinfectants, cleaning products, and care of the housekeeping equipment.
- Stock and supply patient rooms and nursing units.
- Establish rapport with patient and provide information about how the exam is performed and what is required of the patient.
- Utilize standard safety precautions to minimize or eliminate risks to patients, personnel and equipment.
- Availability to provide support to other clinical locations based on clinical hours/need.
- Other duties as assigned.
Percent of Time: PRN Hourly Schedule: Monday - Friday, variable hours from 7:00 AM - 9:00 PM, Saturday & Sunday, variable hours from 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM Locations:Iowa City, Coralville, Cedar Rapids, Quad Cities Experience Requirements * Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Certification Requirements * Certification by the Iowa Department of Public Health with Limited scope of practice in Radiography. Desirable Qualifications * Previous work or clinical education experience in general radiology is desired. * Recent work or clinical education experience in general radiography is desired. |
