The Strategic Events team is seeking a Senior Manager, Event Web Experience. This role is responsible for leading a newly integrated team dedicated to the strategic development, delivery and management of digital marketing experiences for our portfolio of strategic events. Reporting to the Senior Director, Event Operations & Digital Experiences, this position is instrumental in defining and executing the web strategy for the strategic events portfolio as well as ensuring our online presence effectively engages attendees from initial discovery through post-event follow-up.

The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders and external partners to deliver user-centric event websites that support brand objectives and achieve key business goals for each strategic event.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of individual contributors focused on event websites, providing mentorship, performance feedback, and fostering career development. Cultivate a culture of operational excellence, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing within the team.

  • Define and optimize team workflows, allocate resources strategically, and oversee project timelines to ensure efficient execution and on-time, high-quality delivery of all web initiatives.

  • Own the strategic vision for our event websites, leveraging WordPress with advanced page builder solutions to create dynamic, highly customizable, mobile responsive and efficient digital experiences that directly align with overall strategic event goals and marketing objectives.

  • Shape the holistic digital attendee journey, ensuring each touchpoint across platforms-pre, during, and post-event-delivers value and ensures seamless integration and a consistent user experience.

  • Oversee the comprehensive production of event websites, which includes driving content strategy, defining information architecture, guiding UX/UI design, accessibility, managing development cycles, conducting thorough QA, and implementing ongoing optimization for performance and attendee satisfaction.

  • Ensure the successful and efficient launch of all event website phases through proactive process improvements and a rigorous QA process across all web properties, maintaining exceptional quality, functionality, and accessibility standards.

  • Support the integration of various digital platforms and tools to enhance the attendee experience.

  • Proactively manage stakeholder expectations by maintaining transparent communication, providing regular updates, demonstrating empathy, and diligently seeking to understand diverse business needs and contextualize feedback.

  • Partner effectively with key stakeholders across the Strategic Events team, Demand Generation, Digital Experience Strategy, Registration, Creative and agency partners, translating complex event objectives into actionable and effective web solutions that drive lead generation, conversions, and attendee satisfaction.

  • Utilize data and analytics extensively to monitor website performance, identify areas for improvement, inform strategic decisions, and continuously optimize the attendee journey for maximum impact and ROI.

  • Drive innovation by identifying opportunities to introduce and implement new functionality, ensuring our event websites remain cutting-edge, scalable, and aligned with evolving attendee needs.

  • Provide expert technical guidance and troubleshoot complex issues, demonstrating a strong understanding of front-end web technologies (HTML/CSS) and a creative approach to problem-solving.

Requirements:
  • 6+ years of progressive experience in web experience management, with a demonstrated focus on event websites and optimizing the digital attendee journey.

  • Proven leadership experience in managing and developing web professionals.

  • Expertise in WordPress as a CMS, including significant experience with page builder solutions for development flexibility and scalability.

  • Strong understanding of digital marketing principles as they apply to strategic event promotion, engagement, and conversion.

  • Demonstrated ability to design and optimize holistic digital journeys, considering diverse touchpoints and user needs across complex event structures.

  • Proficiency in hand-coding semantically correct HTML and CSS for issue resolution, template customization, and robust web experiences.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts and influence cross-functional teams.

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple large-scale projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

  • Comprehensive understanding of web production best practices, including information architecture, user experience (UX), interaction design, accessibility, visual design, SEO, localization, and A/B testing, specifically as they pertain to event websites.

For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $155,400 to $213,800. For Illinois based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $155,400 to $213,800.
