This is an exciting job opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Connected Residential New Product Development Team in Peachtree City, GA, with Cooper Lighting Solutions, a business unit of Signify, the world leader in lighting.

• Responsible for the overall mechanical design of lighting products and meeting project schedule and budget.

• Collaborate with internal resources and remote engineering to create the project timeline, define deliverables and guide the team to completion.

• Coordinate with marketing to ensure project specifications are clear, complete, achievable and consistent with the voice of the customer.

• Ensure design progression via CAD modeling reviews, thermal and mechanical analysis, drawing and model retention, testing plan creation, test review and coordination with internal and third-party compliance.

• Ensure project tooling budget and product cost requirements are met.

• Coordinate with sourcing team to ensure vendors are identified, quotations are obtained, and quality standards/form deliverables are met.

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and 5+ years of product design work experience (with lighting fixtures a plus)

• 5+ years of work experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D modeling software

• Proficient in thermal and structural simulation with an understanding of electrical and optical engineering principles

• Good understanding of injection molded plastic, die cast, forging, sheet metal design, manufacturing methods and processes

• Able to create, articulate and promote engineering best-practices

• Familiarity with design, manufacturing and regulatory (UL, ES, etc.) aspects of LED lighting systems for general lighting is a plus

Salary:$100,600 - 147,510

Bonus: target bonus opportunity - 10%
