Position Overview:The Senior Supplier Business Development Manager is the primary point of contact for a specific set of suppliers. This role will focus on driving sustainable positive results for Digi-Key and the supplier by integrating and leveraging available resources from both teams. The Supplier Business Development Manager will leverage current network, to help determine supplier|customers needs to propose appropriate technology solutions to achieve business goals. The Senior Supplier Business Development Manager serves as the point person for the business and technical communications for all assigned suppliers, setting growth strategy and ultimately owning the performance and results of their assigned lines.
This is not exclusively an essential onsite role, though may require some onsite attendance.
Responsibilities:
- Perform all Supplier Business Development Manager tasks|responsibilities at 'mastery' level; building expertise in supplier development & management topics & processes at Digi-Key. The work itself may not change, but level of oversight from management decreases.
- Develop and execute to a global and regional business plan for all assigned suppliers
- Oversee and drive Digikey's global or regional performance for assigned suppliers which includes revenue, customer expansion, product technology and strategic marketing initiatives
- Research and report on Market Share: understanding global competitive landscape (high service vs broadline) as well as regionals on suppliers
- Understand suppliers, competitors, channel, and business strategy and use to suggest programs and drive activities toward success
- Use knowlede of DigiKey, supplier portfolio identify, recommend and lead special projects|process improvement efforts and growth opportunities
- Build and enhance relationships with corporate/executive leadership and sales/digital leadership within sales teams
- Manage and maintain all appropriate business metrics and communicate performance to plan
- Work closely with supplier, internal, and external resources in order to drive strategic supplier-specific goals
- Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions; exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information
- Develop and execute strategies to leverage Digi-Key's technical and value creation capabilities and supplier programs
- Lead the preparation and execution of strategic supplier meetings; responsible for action item follow-up
- Know & understand area KPIs|OKRs (e.g. market share, SKU count|new line items, customer count, NPI success, etc.) and drive activities towards meeting these goals
- Set & meet|exceed individual supplier-specific goals that align to the area KPIs|OKRs including operational efficiency efforts
- May mentor other Supplier Business Development Managers or Product Managers, act as a resource for others
- Responsible for quarterly communication specific to their area of responsibility
- Ability to travel - internationally and|or domestically - up to 25%
Performs other duties as assigned including but not limited to possible reallocation of efforts to other organizations per business need and management request. Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Bachelors degree in Electronics Technology, Business Management or similar field or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may also be accepted. Typically 8+ years of Digi-Key or Industry experience in Sales, Marketing, Product Management or other applicable business experience Demonstrated presentation skills for a variety of audiences including executive management/C-Level Expert understanding of the electronics industry and various functions of a distribution channel Must be able to explain difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus Ability to be a strong ambassador of the Digi-Key brand and its principles
Physical Requirements:
- Generally, spend the workday sitting at a workstation and operating computer devices, such as, but not limited to keyboard, mouse and screen
- Generally, spend the workday performing repetitive motions that involve or affect the hands, head, and other parts of your body
Compensation:
The base pay range for this position is: $104,000
to $143,000
