LOCATION: Point Mugu, CA

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Program Specialist (Subsonic). The Senior Program Specialist (Subsonic) provides critical programmatic support and leadership for Navy subsonic target systems, specifically the BQM-177 and BQM-34 variants. This role requires expertise in hardware contract management, project management, or program analysis within a Department of Defense (DoD) environment. The candidate must be well-versed in the U.S. Navy's Competency Aligned Organizational (CAO) structure and Integrated Product Team (IPT) processes. Responsibilities include supporting subsonic target platform operations, hardware oversight, and coordination across Navy teams to ensure mission readiness and contract performance. One position is available on-site, and one is available off-site.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in one or more of the following roles:

    • Hardware Contracts Manager

    • Project Manager

    • Program Analyst

  • Familiarity with:

    • U.S. Navy's Competency Aligned Organizational (CAO) structure

    • U.S. Navy's Integrated Product Team (IPT) structure

  • Knowledge of:

    • BQM-177 and BQM-34 subsonic target system variants

    • Associated platform support and hardware specified in the Task Order

  • Active DoD Secret clearance

  • Ability to work either on-site or off-site depending on position

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage hardware-related contract activities and ensure alignment with program objectives

  • Provide program management or analytical support for subsonic target system initiatives

  • Collaborate within Navy CAO and IPT structures to achieve project milestones and technical deliverables

  • Oversee performance, schedule, and cost control for assigned projects

  • Support integration of BQM-177/BQM-34 hardware and related systems across Navy platforms

  • Assist in developing documentation, briefings, and progress reports to leadership and stakeholders

  • Identify and resolve issues affecting target system delivery, sustainment, and support
