Full Time (40 hours per week) M-F 8:00am to 4:30pm Onsite for the Autism Center Summary: The Intake Coordinator is a valuable team member of the Autism Center within Akron Children's Department of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics. The Intake Coordinator has great communication skills and works diligently to help families obtain needed services for their children. The Intake Coordinator spends the day communicating and working closely with Case Managers, Providers, Patient Families, and Payer Sources, as directed by the Autism Center team needs. Responsibilities: 1. Assists and supports new referrals needs, case management tracking, and obtaining subsequent authorization. 2. Schedule initial assessments and intake appointments, coordinating with internal teams and clients. 3. Interacts with internal and external customers in a real time manner to promote quality and excellent customer service. 4. Routes case to appropriate Clinical Coordinators, Case Managers, nurses, and other staff for continuation of medical necessity review process. 5. Provide clear communication to families about the intake process, answer questions, and offer ongoing support. 6. Other duties as needed within the Autism Center. Technical Expertise 1. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office tools. Comfort with using and learning new technologies, including Zoom, electronic health record systems, appointment scheduling tool, and other team collaboration tools 2. Familiarity with working in an EHR system or a system similar 3. Familiarity with hospital systems (highly preferred) 4. Understanding of autism diagnosis, treatment modalities, and current research Education and Experience 1. Education: HS degree required. BA in social sciences preferred 2. Years of relevant experience: 2 years preferred 3. Years of supervisory experience: none Full Time FTE: 1.000000 Status: Onsite |
