GENERAL SUMMARY:

Benefits Analyst administers, implements and communicates the credit union's benefits program, procedures and practices to include Employee welfare benefit plans, retirement plans, Corporate Wellness Initiative, Leave of Absence policies and Worker's Compensation, with the goal to attract and retain the best talent and positions Vantage West Credit Union as an employer of choice in our competitive markets. This position is also responsible for maintaining current knowledge of best practices, configuration of benefits in HRIS system, and maintain benefits compliance related to ERISA, IRS, DOL, and ACA regulations for all credit union locations.

Salary range is $71,805.29-$94,244.45. Job Grade, EX 11. Final salary is dependent on candidate's experience and qualifications.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or related field or equivalent experience
  • Two (2) years benefits administration or Human Resource experience with benefits knowledge and exposure

WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT:

The job requires the employee to sit and stand a majority of the time. Infrequent lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required. The position could require frequent travel to branches and business locations

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Must comply with all aspects of the Bank Secrecy Act. Must comply with all aspects of HIPAA.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES AND TASKS:

1. Assists Employees in understanding the credit union's benefits offerings and acts as a liaison between the credit union and third-party benefits providers. Provide advice and direction to managers and employees regarding policies and procedures.

2. Configure benefits and open enrollment module in HRIS system.

3. Maintain plan documents, benefits summaries, and required employee notices.

4. Act as the Department Page Owner to ensure most accurate documents are accessible for employees on SharePoint (The Hub)

5. Work with Director, Benefits & Employee Services on Ad Hoc reporting for various departments.



6. Contributes to the development and implementation of benefit policies and procedures. Provides policy interpretation and general information pertaining to all areas of benefits and payroll. Diligently works toward process improvement and creation as appropriate. Stay apprised of current knowledge of federal, state and local laws and statues related to benefits.

7. Assigned special projects in support of Human Resources and the Credit Union goals and strategic initiatives.

8. Collect data, analyze information to identify themes, trends and support decision-making related to revision of benefits programs. Provides recommendations for program revisions to enhance the credit union's ability to attract and retain employees

9. Facilitate and conduct open enrollment meetings and Corporate Wellness Initiative including communication, events, eligibility, costs, education and coverage.

10. Provides guidance on claims and enrollment activity.

11. Responsible for all leave of absence administration including FMLA, Personal Leave, Medical Leave, Parental Leave and Military Leave and provide policy updates

12. Responsible for COBRA and Retiree benefits administration.

13. Administers qualified and non-qualified plans to include 401(k), 457(b), and Long Term Incentive Plans.

14. Assist with annual audit of welfare benefit plans and retirement plans.

15. Works with third-party vendors to process form 5500 and Non-Discrimination Testing activity.

16. Responsible for the vendor invoice reconciliation process.

17. Back up for Sr. Payroll Analyst to process payroll.

18. Performs all other duties as assigned.
