The DCS Lead role is key to advancing the business by leading a team that owns the Distributed Control System (DCS), Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), Bently Nevada, Radio, Fiber and Wireless systems at the CC site. The teams' responsibilities include Asset Advancement, Risk Management, Reliability and Maintenance of the hardware and software.

Our Team

The DCS/PLC Team consists of System Administrators and Technicians for the different Control Systems. The DCS Lead is the Supervisor for this team and is responsible for their performance and development. This position is a leader within the FHR-CC Organization and must internalize and apply the FHR Leader Expectations to create long term value and advance CC's competitive position

What You Will Do

* Understands the different system POV and oversees the development of strategies in line with that POV.

* Ensures turnaround scoping and strategies for the equipment are competitive and meet asset long term POV.

* Leads team in project identification/portfolio development for the control system equipment. Ensures projects meet set objectives.

* Understand and manage asset/equipment risk to meet refinery targets.

* Contributing to the planning process at the team level including the Five-Year Bet and Annual Plan

* Lead and develop a technical team focused on plant reliability.

* Establish related processes and programs and promote a culture that is conductive to quality and reliability.

* Lead and provide strategic direction for a technical team for Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Management of Change (MOC), MI programs.

* Strong partnerships with Project Control Engineering team to advance the overall Project Control Capability.

* Leader at Corpus Christi and responsible for stakeholder relationships at site.

* Train the team on Principled Based Management, exhibit and implement mental models.

* Establishing goals, plans and taking action to develop each direct report's technical and soft skills.

* Strong written and verbal communication skills

* Demonstrated capability to make decisions and challenge others.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • B.S degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or 5+ years of experience in DCS/PLC teams.
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience within a refinery or chemical plant
  • 5+ years' experience in asset management, including areas such as cost control, optimization, outage/turnaround planning, equipment reliability, project engineering (automation/controls), and/or unit or business risk management

What Will Put You Ahead

  • 10 + years of relevant work experience within a refinery.
  • Proven leadership abilities with experience in building and managing teams.
  • Both Business Risk Management and Equipment Reliability Strategies background
  • Prior supervisory experience
  • Knowledge and application of Lean Concepts for efficient workflows.
  • Knowledge of refinery DCS/PLC equipment and software.

This role is subject to the Transportation Workers Identification Credentialing (TWIC) rule and requires the successful candidate to obtain a TWIC identification badge, allowing for un-escorted access to the facility within a specific time period.
