Visiting Assistant Professor Physics JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY The Department of Physics at the Florida Polytechnic University is seeking applicants for the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor.
Visiting Assistant Professor candidates should possess a commitment to teaching physics that supports undergraduates primarily in introductory physics courses.

The Physics Department at Florida Polytechnic University offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Physics, that began in the fall of 2019 and a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics beginning in fall 2025.

This position will primarily focus on Physics 1 & 2 lectures and laboratory instruction. As such, applicants must demonstrate commitment to teaching within the freshman and sophomore year. Candidates are expected to assist in the broader educational mission of the university.

The appointment is projected to begin on August 11, 2025. This appointment is nine (9) months paid over 12 months with the potential for reappointment. JOB DESCRIPTION

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:

  • Ph.D. in Physics, or a closely related field, where the degree must be complete before a candidate's starting date.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior teaching and relevant research or industry experience.
  • Participation in professional activities and organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with broad campus community.

COMPENSATION: Commensurate with experience and qualifications
