How can you make an impact?

We're looking for a Regional Account Manager to support our territory that covers the states of Washington DC, Delaware, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. Reporting to the Regional Sales Director for our Professional Services division, the Regional Account Manager will be responsible for driving digital product sales within the assigned territory by connecting with customers and groups. This role will be calling on C-Level decision makers at hospitals and medical schools to build customized digital solutions for their professional needs. Regional Account Managers are experienced communicators who are highly organized, data-driven, and can quickly build and leverage new relationships to maximize the impact of McGraw Hill solutions. The ideal candidate has an entrepreneurial spirit - is willing to seek out, engage and close business all while working in a dynamic and complex environment. Intellectual curiosity and an appreciation for building relationships are keys to success in this role.

This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States. Candidates are required to travel about 30%. Ideally, candidates will live or work in Eastern Standard Time. Candidates must live within 1 hour of a major airport.

What you will be doing:

  • Call on account(s) weekly/monthly regarding new and existing product in an effort to maximize sales and increase market share of account(s).
  • Work with existing customers to ensure renewal and up selling.
  • Regular follow-up with sales management which should include, reporting on sales goals, efficiencies and overall performance, through weekly and monthly sales call reports and one-on-one meetings.
  • Prospect large accounts
  • Call on C-level decision makers at hospitals and medical schools in addition to outreach to librarians.
  • Position will also be responsible for our engineering database and working with engineering faculty and librarians
  • Ability to present complex information to large groups of decision makers
  • Use CRM daily to ensure opportunities are up to date and accurate forecast future sales.

We're looking for someone with:

  • Bachelors degree in related discipline
  • Minimum six years related sales experience within digital publishing industry
  • Demonstrated success in managing and growing account business
  • Excellent organizational, presentation and communication (written and verbal) skills are needed to correspond with established accounts.
  • Superior business development and client service skills, including excellent negotiation, problem resolution, and conflict management skills are required to build and maintain prospect and client relationships.
  • Creative ability to tailor recommendations based on client need and customize product to fit client need.
  • Excellent attention to detail and follow-up skills as well as strong analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Salesforce and ability to quickly learn internal databases.
  • Ability to lead and work in a team environment.

The pay for this position is $71,300-$95,000 annually, however, base pay offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sales commission plan will be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered.
