About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Licensed Electrician to join our established team responsible for operating and maintaining critical power infrastructure.

This role involves operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining power grid distribution switchgear (5kV, 15kV, and 35kV), as well as installing and repairing commercial and industrial electrical systems under a Master Electrician's supervision.

The ideal candidate will be safety-conscious, patient, and possess excellent communication and organizational skills. You will work collaboratively within an existing team where safety, customer satisfaction, and accountability are top priorities.

Key Responsibilities Electrical Systems Management
  • Install, maintain, and repair lighting and electrical distribution equipment
  • Operate and maintain complex systems including switchgear, variable frequency drives, UPS systems, power distribution units, and automatic/static transfer switches
  • Identify maintenance risks and perform preventative maintenance
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical system faults
  • Perform emergency repairs safely and efficiently
Power Grid Operations
  • Operate the Power Distribution Grid during normal operations, paralleling, and island mode
  • Monitor power distribution to critical business areas and office buildings
  • Observe and regulate voltage transformers and circuit breakers
  • Collect and document diagnostic data (voltage, frequency, current, kW, KVA, THDV, THDA)
  • Monitor distribution circuits and connections with substations and generators
Technical Oversight
  • Understand and manage complex power distribution system operations and topology
  • Respond to component failures or utility events with appropriate grid adjustments
  • Manually or automatically reestablish power in safe, reliable, and efficient manner
  • Anticipate power needs based on environmental factors
  • Communicate effectively with operators, electrical leads, and engineering during emergencies
Equipment Operation
  • Operate and monitor specialized equipment including:
    • Diesel and gas generators
    • Medium and low voltage breakers
    • Medium and low voltage transformers
Requirements
  • Valid Journeyman Electrician license from Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an Electrician with commitment to continuing education
  • Valid driver's license
  • Strong understanding of advanced electrical systems principles
  • Proficiency in reading drawings, schematics, and work plans
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Work Conditions
  • Rotating shift schedule that includes night shifts
  • Availability to work after hours, weekends, and holidays with minimal notice
  • Ability to work in confined spaces
