Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Financial Analyst. The Financial Analyst is responsible for classifying, monitoring, and summarizing financial data to support accurate and timely reporting on a recurring basis. This role conducts in-depth financial analysis, including cost-benefit studies, return on investment (ROI), cost estimation, present value analysis, and analysis of alternatives to support capital planning and investment control activities. The analyst provides strategic insights to guide decision-making and must demonstrate knowledge of relevant federal financial practices and regulatory frameworks, including FAA accounting, government appropriations, and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circular A-11 guidance.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field such as accounting, finance, or economics

    • 5+ years of experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree
  • 1-20 years of relevant experience in financial analysis or related functions

  • Experience supporting financial reporting and decision-making processes

  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling, cost analysis, and data interpretation

  • Experience with one or more of the following:

    • FAA accounting practices

    • U.S. government appropriation process

    • OMB Circular A-11 and Exhibit 300 development

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Master's degree or MBA in a related field (may substitute for Bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience)

  • Ph.D. in a related field (may substitute for Bachelor's degree and 7 years of experience)

  • Familiarity with FAA financial systems, tools, and reporting structures

  • Experience supporting OMB Exhibit 300 development for federal agencies

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Classify, monitor, and summarize financial data for recurring reports and briefings

  • Conduct financial and economic analyses including ROI, cost-benefit, and present value evaluations

  • Support capital planning and investment control (CPIC) processes and documentation

  • Analyze financial alternatives to support investment decisions

  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and financial documentation in compliance with federal requirements

  • Collaborate with program and project teams to gather data and provide actionable financial insights

  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, government policies, and agency-specific regulations

  • Track and reconcile budget execution, funding allocations, and expenditure reports
