Strategic Initiatives Lead, Materials Management

Oversee enterprise-wide materials management operations across 6+ Mass General Brigham (MGB) hospitals, driving digital transformation through ERP integration (EPIC/Workday), process standardization, and Power Platform automation. Spearhead strategic initiatives achieving 98% system-wide inventory accuracy leading to significant annual cost savings. Mentor/train cross-functional local teams in adoption of AI-driven analytics for supply chain optimization.

1.Enterprise Material Digital Process Leadership

  • Engineer and execute system-wide inventory reorganization projects (eSims optimization, multi hospital-wide relabeling & reorganizing, discontinued & unused item clearance, and etc.) impacting 4,000+ SKUs annually.
  • Develop standardized integration protocols for Workday/EPIC systems, including ghost item resolution and preference card synchronization and more.
  • Lead digital transformation initiatives replacing manual workflows with Power Platform solutions (MS Forms, Power Apps, Power Automate) for orders, request, tracking system, and etc.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement solutions using Lean methodologies and DMAIC frameworks.

2.System Integration & Innovation

  • Serve as primary contact between MGB IT (EPIC/Workday teams), clinical stakeholders, and vendors to resolve integration gaps.
  • Develop barcode scanning solutions and SharePoint architectures that reduce inventory discrepancies at all hospitals
  • Lead ERP migration projects including PeopleSoft to Workday transitions and EPIC hierarchy realignments.

3.Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Develop system-wide training curricula featuring video tutorials and SharePoint knowledge base, reducing ERP support requests.
  • Chair enterprise committees establishing digital standards for material labeling, par-level optimization, and EPIC integration protocols.
  • Mentor inventory specialists across MGB hospitals on inventory accuracy best practices and digital tool adoption.

4.Cost Optimization Initiatives

  • Generate annual cost savings through vendor negotiation strategies and discontinued inventory clearance programs.
  • Implement predictive analytics models for par-level optimization adopted across clinical service lines
  • Direct eSims invoice reconciliation processes ensuring 100% payment accuracy for high-value implantable.


Education

  • Bachelor's degree with focus in Supply Chain Management, Process Improvement or related field Required.Master's degree preferred.
  • Green Belt Six Sigma Certificate or similar preferred

Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in healthcare materials management, project management or leadership Role.
    • A combination of education and experience may be substituted for requirements.
  • Leading hospital material management projects (e.g., EPIC integrations, inventory relabeling)
  • Proven success in ERP implementations (Workday/EPIC) and hospital-wide inventory system redesigns
  • Demonstrated expertise in deploying Power Platform solutions at scale across clinical environments

Knowledge and Skills

  • Advanced Power Platform development (Canvas Apps, Automated Flows, AI Builder)
  • ERP mastery: Workday inventory hierarchy management, EPIC preference card optimization
  • SharePoint Architecture & customized application development
  • Data analytics: Power BI dashboard development, Excel predictive modeling (Monte Carlo simulations)
  • Process mapping: Visio, Lucidchart, Value Stream Mapping
  • Cross-functional team management (IT/clinical/vendor stakeholders)
  • Digital transformation roadmaps and development
