Job Summary
This position supervises the work of the Division's academic office administrative team and is also responsible for Division academic personnel actions. - Bachelor's degree in a related field or a combination of education and equivalent experience required
- At least one year experience supervising two or more direct reports or acting in a lead capacity.
- Experience working in faculty/academic affairs and/or human resources.
- Experience using online/ other project management tools and apps to track tasks, create project plans and reports.
- Administrative experience, including calendar management, required.
- Demonstrated excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills to quickly and accurately produce professional and accurate correspondence and other written materials.
- Demonstrated ability to continually learn and grow, quickly and effectively learning to use new tools and apps, systems and processes in a continually changing environment.
- Demonstrated advanced skills using Microsoft Outlook and Word.
- Advanced beginner skills using Excel.
- Demonstrated exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal communication skills to effectively and professionally communicate to internal and external constituents.
- Demonstrated political acumen to work in an executive-level office environment, with ability to represent the division and faculty with professionalism, tact and discretion to all constituents.
- Demonstrated strong time management and multitasking skills.
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability using colleagues, supervisor, online resources, and good judgment.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field strongly preferred
- Strongly prefer at least two years MIV and/or other academic action preparation and/or management experience, preferably in an academic healthcare environment.
- Strongly prefer previous experience working with physicians in a healthcare setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Health System and UC Davis policies and procedures.

Department Overview The Division of Hematology and Oncology is one of the largest of 14 divisions in the Department of Internal Medicine. The Division is comprised of more than 35 faculty and staff physicians, 11 nurse practitioners, and 50 administrative, financial and research staff members, with ongoing faculty, staff and nurse practitioner recruitments. The Division operates large, diverse clinical and research programs where the faculty are leaders in Oncology, Hematology, Hemophilia, Sickle Cell, and Thrombosis research and houses the faculty leaders of the Cancer Center and PET imaging/ theranostics research programs. The Division is a major component of the NCI-designated UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center and has a strong presence in developmental therapeutics. POSITION INFORMATION

Work Environment
- UC Davis is a smoke and tobacco free campus effective January 1, 2014. - Work schedule 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Ability and willingness to work occasional after hours or overtime.
