How You'll Make an Impact We are adding an Energy Design Manager to develop and support clients within the energy reliability market sector. The candidate will support energy development clients to assess long-term development risks by providing early-stage site plan design services. The candidate will focus on growing a client base in the Pacific Northwest and throughout the Nation. This individual will have a strong network of existing contacts within the energy market sector and will contribute to the development, strategic direction, and growth of energy design services.
The seller/doer will have 25+ or more years of expertise in the energy market, have experience developing and maintaining strong client relationships, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities through networking, marketing, and client referrals. Along with growing a client base, the candidate will independently prepare site plans, coordinate with other Dudek teams and be responsible for ensuring services are performed within budget and on schedule. This position will be based in Dudek's Portland office and is expected to include travel throughout the Nation for project-related tasks, as necessary. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Leading Teams: Collaborating and mentoring various teams in the creation of site plan design drawings to support early-stage projects to meet market changes and client expectations. Working day-to-day with civil engineers, electrical engineers, fire protection planners, land use planners and environmental specialists to develop site plans that maximize energy production while addressing constraints.
  • Civil Site Plans:Ensure client expectations are met for grading, roads, stormwater management, and erosion and sediment control.
  • Regulatory Support:Conduct as-needed research related to applicable regulatory codes. This may involve coordination with local, state, and federal agencies, and address complex regulatory processes.
  • Project Management and Client Services Manager:Work directly with the client and project team members to ensure project timelines, budgets, and resources are allocated in accordance with executed contracts.
  • Site Layout and Optimization:Prepare site plans that maximize energy production or storage capabilities.
  • Business and Client Development: Collaborate with project managers, client services managers and clients to shape and develop engineering design services that align with Dudek's overall growth strategies. Prepare proposals in response to RFP's and sole-source opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 25+ years of experience in site development engineering and design for energy storage systems, with a proven track record of managing and designing complex projects.
  • A Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Knowledge of energy-specific regulations and compliance standards.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have active personal automobile liability insurance by first day of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, construction techniques, and AutoCAD.
  • Expertise in planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource management.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills for collaborating with teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and solve complex problems.
  • Strong leadership skills for managing project teams
Compensation:$145,000-$165,000 annually*
  • *Final agreed-upon compensation will be based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, an individual's related experience, education, certifications, skills, and work location. Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check prior to beginning employment.
Working ConditionsEnvironment
  • This job operates in a remote or office-based environment and this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, etc.
  • This job may also require occasional project site visits, based outdoors which can include excessive noise, uneven walking surfaces, extreme weather, and moving vehicles and equipment.
