Job Duties:
Performs safe and efficient maintenance on FedEx aircraft components (LRUs) as assigned by the Lead Avionics Component Technician. This is a 3-year apprenticeship program and upon successful completion will promote to Avionics Component Technician. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education

High school diploma/GED. required. Associate's Degree or certificate in an electronics or avionics field of study, or equivalent military education preferred OR must meet the minimum experience requirements.

Minimum Experience

18 months of specialized experience repairing Avionics equipment at a bench level capacity, under an FAA approved repair station license, or equivalent military experience OR meet the minimum educational requirements.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

FCC License (elements 1&3) Required. Candidates must be able to diagnose complex circuits using electronic test equipment and show an eagerness to learn how to make circuit board level repairs while adhering to all safety and regulatory policies of an FAA repair station. Must be able to lift & maneuver heavy aircraft-related components, parts & equipment.

Job Conditions

Must be willing to work odd work weeks, rotating shifts, overtime, weekends & holidays. FAA Covered Safety Sensitive Position. Subject to regulatory Alcohol & Drug Testing, which includes testing for marijuana, PCP, amphetamines, cocaine & opioids. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. A valid non-restricted drivers license from the state of residence is required.
