65762 Job Title: Shipping Lead Department: Shipping FLSA Status: Non-Exempt PURPOSE OF THE JOB The Shipping Lead is responsible for leading daily processes related to shipping/receiving and for the performance and continued growth of the Compton, CA manufacturing facility, including the safety of all employees, process optimization, and training and development. The Shipping Lead is a key contributor to the continuous improvements of critical plant performance metrics in the areas of safety, productivity, cost, quality and sustainability. This role is essential to the successful operations of the Compton Roofing and Asphalt site and will be responsible as a backup to all shipping/receiving functions and backfill for the Shipping Leader. The Shipping Lead is an hourly position reporting to Shipping and Receiving Front Line Leader. This role provides leadership that enables team members to excel at meeting all safety, quality, and productivity expectations. He/she is accountable for supporting an engaged workforce characterized by mutual trust, open communication, teamwork, and recognition that positively impacts the plant performance. The Shipping Lead is also accountable for maintaining standard work and Shipping and Receiving Policies to assure all shipping personnel are following standards to provide optimum load times and accuracy in the safest and most cost effective manner.
