Overview
LVN NCLEX - Licensure Readiness Nursing Tutor The Licensure Readiness Nursing Tutor ("Nursing Tutor") supports students and graduates in mastering key nursing concepts essential for success in Concorde's nursing programs and on the national licensure examination (NCLEX). Reporting to the Licensure Readiness Advisor, the Nursing Tutor delivers instruction aligned with the NCLEX-PN blueprint, emphasizing critical thinking, test-taking strategies, and concept application. This role requires a collaborative, resourceful approach and a commitment to helping students pass the NCLEX on their first attempt. Responsibilities
- Teach time management and skills related to study and concept retention
- Review test-taking strategies, techniques, and critical thinking skills
- Tutor students in nursing concepts and content for assigned courses
- Develop PowerPoint and instructional materials tailored to student needs
- Conduct two weekly one-hour online tutoring sessions per assigned graduate
- Assist with NCLEX-PN preparation using Elsevier, PassPoint, and other approved resources
- Maintain consistent communication and reporting to the LRA and nursing faculty
- Request and support academically at-risk students as identified by the LRA
- Assist students with navigation of Learning Management Systems
- Support students in completing remediation plans and adhering to green light policies
- Identify and recommend nursing resources for exam preparation
- Track and report student attendance and progress to faculty and DON
- Maintain a supportive and professional attitude throughout tutoring
- Uphold student privacy during and after sessions
- Manage scheduling of sessions to align with student availability
- Ensure adherence to institutional policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Licenses/Certifications
- Active and unencumbered Vocational Nurse (VN) license (required)
- CA - Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)
Education/Experience
- Minimum of two (2) years teaching, tutoring, or coaching experience in nursing education (preferred)
- Familiarity with NCLEX-PN test blueprint and associated learning tools (required)
- Experience using LMS platforms such as Canvas or Blackboard (preferred)
- Knowledge of remediation tools including Elsevier and PassPoint (preferred)

- Expertise in the area of assignment that demonstrates the skills needed to provide tutoring

Work Environment
- Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment when on site at assigned company location. Employees must be able to safely ambulate when on company premises.
- This position is eligible for a remote, hybrid, on campus or an on site work location to meet business needs. Employees must be able to follow all safety precautions including the use of personal-protective equipment. Employees must also be able to adhere to site-specific safety procedures. Work environments may include exposure to student learning environments with a variety of conditions. Employees must meet minimum technical standards for eligibility and participation.
